Home / News / APOSA BIDS FAREWELL TO ELDER JOHNSON ENYANBOIKE S.E. EBU

It was a rare sight to witness a tear fall amidst the splendid celebrations of the life of Elder Johnson Enyanboike S.E. Ebu. This was the chosen way for APOSA National and the entire TAC-GH to bid farewell to a gallant soldier upon his return to his Maker.

Elder Johnson Enyanboike S.E. Ebu was called to glory on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 77. Originally from Igbanke in Edo State, Nigeria, he was baptized on August 18, 1969, in Igbanke by Pastor Paul Obeng Donkor. He later moved to Ghana in February 1979 to live with Pastor Donkor. Settling at Kokomlemle, he joined the Redeemers Evangelical Mission, founded by Pastor Donkor.

Later in 1982, Pastor Donkor, together with Elder Johnson, the late Apostle Asamoah, and the late Apostle J. D. Korang (then an elder in Redeemers Evangelical Mission), joined The Apostolic Church-Ghana at Abeka. Some years later, Elder Johnson relocated from Abeka to live at Taifa.

A devoted servant of God, Elder Johnson played a pivotal role in the establishment of several assemblies, including the Medie Assembly under the then Pokuase District and the Ebenezer Assembly under the Achimota District. His service to the Lord through TAC-GH was unwavering, and his contributions to APOSA were invaluable. Affectionately known as “Oga Kpatakpata” by his peers, he was a remarkable servant-leader, ever-present at gatherings, always wearing a smile and greeting others in diverse ways.

Elder Johnson’s dedication to APOSA extended beyond Ghana’s borders. He was among the first Zonal Coordinators appointed by the Central Executive Committee in 1997 and later became the first Zonal Coordinators’ representative on the Central Executive Committee. His work involved strengthening existing APOSA chapters and establishing new ones across the country. As a delegate leader, he facilitated APOSA’s engagement with TACSFON in Nigeria, playing a key role in organizing the first Apostolic Church Students Fellowship International meetings in August 2000.

His zeal for the Lord’s work was unmatched. From 2003 to 2005, as publicity chairman for APOSA Campmeetings, he printed and distributed posters nationwide. He also supported the financing of these events through advertisements in camp brochures. His businesses, Tunnex Laboratories Engineering Limited and later Jesus Never Sleeps Company Limited, reflected his deep faith and commitment.

The distinguished personalities present at his funeral included Apostle Alex Boateng (General Secretary, TAC-GH), Apostle Ofori Kuragu (Achimota Area Superintendent), Apostle Dr. Alex Ofosu (Former General Secretary, TAC-GH), Apostle F.Y. Agyemang (Former Vice President, TAC-GH), Apostle Precious E. Adade (Koforidua Area Superintendent), Pastor Ernest Boateng (Director of MMFAG, TAC-GH), Pastor Isaac Kwabia (St. Johns District), Pastor Ebenezer Gyamera, PhD (Director of Administration, TAC-GH), and all APOSA National Executives, led by Superintendent Pastor Prof. Alex Edwards, among others.

Elder Johnson was a man of the Word, a role model of true Christianity, and a passionate evangelist who sacrificed for the spread of the gospel. His life of faith and dedication inspired many, from new converts to seasoned ministers. His presence at APOSA Campmeetings was always felt, as he sat in the front rows, worshipped with joy, and danced with his unique style.

His departure after attending the 2024 Campmeeting is a testament to his lifelong commitment—he gave his all until the very end.

A gallant soldier lives on and will forever be remembered.
